Heroes to Healthcare Initiative - GO!
ImPowerQ Associates launches Heroes to Healthcare Initiative to provide opportunity for the nearly 11,000 healthcare experienced veterans separating annually to transition into meaningful careers via public-private partnerships
In commemoration of Veterans Day, ImPowerQ Associates is holding a unique ‘collaboratory’ of DFW healthcare leaders to strategize employment opportunities for veterans at the ‘Heroes to Healthcare Summit’ on November 15, 2017 at 1pm at the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum
With the support of leading healthcare employers and a US Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship model, the Heroes to Healthcare (H2H) Initiative is on target to launch its first cohort of veterans in the Dallas Fort Worth region in early 2018. DFW was chosen for the launch based on local veteran underemployment rates for healthcare experienced veterans and the projected increase in veteran population along with the outstanding public /private support for veteran initiatives.
ImPowerQ Associates, a management consulting firm with extensive experience in the Healthcare Industry and Talent Development is announcing the local launch of the Heroes to Healthcare (H2H) Initiative, part of a nationwide program aimed at increasing education and employment opportunities for mid-enlisted level U.S. veterans with healthcare training and experience.
“Our veterans and military service members dedicate their lives to our country while gaining outstanding experience and skills, which, if successfully bridged, can lead to tremendous advantage for both the veterans and the civilian world,” says Samina Hooda, Co-founder and President of ImPowerQ Associates.
Developed by ImPowerQ Associates with support from U.S. Department of Labor, the American Academy for Physician Coders (AAPC) and Healthcare Industry Leaders, H2H unites local and national partners to coordinate recruiting, education, training, and employment services for veterans and current service members preparing to transition from active duty. The H2H will help veterans gain competitive career skills validated by industry approved credentials in locally in-demand jobs.
“This new initiative is one way in which we can do a great thing for our country while doing great things in business by "Impowering" our healthcare experienced veterans with the resources they need to obtain meaningful employment while also providing the healthcare industry with much needed high-quality talent” said Dave Gregorio, Co-founder and Director of Social Impact at ImPowerQ.
H2H – A proven model for success
The Heroes to Healthcare Initiative is an expanded model of prior programs that the leaders at ImPowerQ have successfully led for corporations such as Perot Systems, Dell and MedSynergies between 2006 and 2016 and by enhancing strategic partnerships to extend the reach of services, ImPowerQ Associates can now offer this to healthcare employers nationally.
“Healthcare experienced Veterans are invaluable assets to our nation’s healthcare workforce. Of course, it is a privilege to increase the support and opportunities for our nation’s veterans but as a business leader, I also have experienced the tremendous benefit veteran talent is in the business of healthcare,” says JR. Thomas, former CEO of MedSynergies and a nationally recognized healthcare executive.
“If history has shown us anything, it’s that all you have to do is give veterans an opportunity and they will go beyond anything to excel." says Gregorio.
